Professorship Appointment Procedures: Dos and Don’ts (GAIN26)
How do I successfully apply for a professorship? What steps in the process do I need to follow? What additional qualifications relating to global challenges and interdisciplinary research projects are advantageous? What strategic significance do diversity, equality, internationality and non-linear career paths have in appointment procedures?
This interactive workshop addresses these and other questions regarding appointment procedures. The aim is to explain the appointment procedures at (technical) universities, answer questions about applications and the process, and provide participants with important ‘dos and don’ts’. At the same time, the panelists will outline the requirements for a successful application, considering the strategic focus of various disciplines and universities, so that candidates can demonstrate their suitability during the appointment process.
