Professorship Appointment Procedures: Dos and Don’ts

The workshop deals with the range of topics “Dos and Don’ts in appointment procedures”. The main aim here is to explain the appointment modalities at German (technical) universities, answer questions about the application and the procedure and provide participants with important “dos and don’ts”. At the same time, the speakers will explain the requirements for a successful application with regard to the strategic orientation of technical and scientific subjects in order to be able to prove themselves in the appointment procedure. What additional qualifications with regard to global challenges and interdisciplinary research projects are an advantage? What strategic importance do diversity, equality and internationality and non-linear career paths have in appointment procedures?
