Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB)
PTB is among the top names in metrology worldwide. As the National Metrology Institute of Germany, PTB is Germany’s highest authority when it comes to correct and reliable measurements. Research and development work amounts to about two thirds of all of PTB’s activities. Research work is structured along the current major technological and societal challenges that PTB is facing, for example with competence centres and innovation clusters for the entire spectrum of its activities. PTB presents future-oriented metrological activities in the field of research, services and legal metrology. The employees in the laboratories calibrate measuring instruments, meeting the most demanding requirements.
PTB employs a total of approx. 2150 staff members at the sites in Braunschweig and Berlin.
