Hochschule Karlsruhe (HKA) – Karriere an Hochschulen für Angewandte Wissenschaften (HAW)

Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) is one of the largest (about 7,200 students) and most research-intensive technically oriented HAW (universities of applied sciences) in the state of Baden-Württemberg. HKA has a strong international orientation and is a funded European University (since 2022) in association with nine other universities in Europe. The application and practical relevance, as well as the seminar-style teaching are characteristics of the HKA. The close networking and cooperation with companies in the region and the strategic focus on the trinational Upper Rhine region (Germany, France, Switzerland) are the basis for numerous funding/research and development projects at HKA. Currently, HKA supervises about 100 doctoral students and has direct access to doctoral studies since 2022. The sustainable further development of HKA in teaching and learning, research and campus development (climate-positive campus 2030+) are the topics of the future at HKA.
