GAIN25 Conference Now Open for International Postdocs

For the first time, the GAIN25 Conference will open its full program to international postdocs!
We are excited to welcome researchers from North America to join us for the entire conference, taking place from August 29–31, 2025, in Boston.

To support this broader participation, English-language workshops will be offered during all time slots throughout the program.

Announcement of GAIN participation scholarship

Who can apply?
Internationally mobile scientists from Germany who are currently working on the American continent take part in GAIN25 and international postdocs working in the U.S. and Canada. Postdocs who do not receive a scholarship from the DAAD, the DFG, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Leopoldina or the German National Academic Foundation are invited to apply for the GAIN participation scholarship. Applications are open to all disciplines.

What is funded?
For GAIN scholarship holders, GAIN covers the conference fees of 630 US dollars including meals as well as the cost of two nights in the conference hotel – unless you live in the Greater Boston Area. Travel costs are not covered.

How to apply?

  • Please register via the registration portal under the category “International Attendee (PostDoc – Full conference or Saturday afternoon only)”.
  • Select if you want to attend the full conference or only Saturday afternoon.
  • If you select the full conference, specify “GAIN” as the inviting organization.
  • You will be asked to upload your CV and state your motivation for participating.
  • Please only book your hotel room after receiving confirmation of a GAIN participation scholarship.
