Willkommen to GAIN!

The German Academic International Network (GAIN) is the network of scientists and researchers of all disciplines from Germany, working at leading research institutions worldwide with special focus on the United States and Canada. It is a joint initiative of three major research funding organizations in Germany, the DAAD, AvH and DFG. GAIN helps its members maintain and build their international networks and facilitates transatlantic mobility and cooperation. We inform about career and funding opportunities and recent developments in science policy in Germany.

Every year GAIN invites its network of researchers from Germany currently abroad and international researchers  interested in opportunities in Germany to the annual GAIN conference.

About the annual conference

The annual GAIN conference is a large German science and research career fair. Early career researchers and representatives from all areas of the German research landscape come together for three days of exchange, learning and networking.

A variety of workshops and the talent fair make the event a rare opportunity to meet a large number of experts, politicians and German university leadership. Participants can meet with more than 60 German universities, research institutions, and funding agencies. In one-on-one meetings young scholars can find out about their programs and job openings.

German program: Part of the program is offered in German. German speakers will find additional information regarding program and registration on the German pages of the website using the language switch at the top of the page.

Non-German speaking researchers are invited to attend the full conference. Workshops in English will be offered throughout the whole conference. You are also invited to the free English program on Saturday afternoon.
