GAIN20: Annual GAIN Conference

Please note: These are the pages of the English Program of the annual conference GAIN20. German speakers will find more information using the language switch at the top of the page.

>>> Covid-19 Update: In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service and the German Research Foundation have jointly decided that, to our great regret, the GAIN Annual Meeting cannot be held in Boston at the end of August as planned. Considerations are currently being made to offer a virtual GAIN conference 2020. It is still being explored whether this will be carried out, on which date and in what format. As soon as new information is available, it will be posted on the GAIN website.

The annual GAIN conference is the largest German science and research career fair in the US. With over 600 participants, early career researchers and representatives from all areas of the German research landscape come together for three days of exchange, learning and networking. Various workshops, panels, and a talent fair make the event a rare opportunity to meet a large number of experts, politicians and German university leadership. Find your career in Germany!

One portion of the conference is dedicated to international researchers and will be conducted in English. It is an ideal platform for MA, PhD, and postdoctoral students, as well as junior faculty of all disciplines to learn about academic careers and funding opportunities in Germany. You can schedule appointments with more than 100 German universities, research institutions, and funding agencies. Find out about their programs and job openings! The initiative Research in Germany offers a special workshop on opportunities in Germany for scientists interested in transatlantic careers and partnership. There is no admission fee for international researchers, but registration will be required. If you are interested in learning more about the event, please write to info@gain-network.org.
